COMMITTED

Committed is less about the politics of the time—and more about the people. It explores the personal cost of the sweeping 1953 legislation that instilled fear in Women, Queer, Trans, Black, and Indigenous communities. This story shines a light on that violation—and how far people will go to protect the families they’ve built.

At its heart, Committed is a Ripley-meets-Gaslit interrogation of a mother working at the Department of Defense in 1953 in Washington, D.C., whose life is upended when a secret government investigation puts her under scrutiny. As you know, government files were created to track individuals deemed to have “weak morals.” Then, lists were made. Suspected gays were on those lists. Black and Native Americans were on those lists. Scientists. Intellectuals. Feminists. This family was on those lists.

Committed isn’t just a show—it’s the story of an American family simply trying to exist.

Why Now?
Some think America’s greatest threat is the enemy from within. “They’re Marxists and they’re Communists and they’re Fascists and they’re sick...” Trump has promised to use the Justice Department to “root out [these people] that live like vermin within the confines of our country” and purge the government.

All of what is about to happen, already happened.
